@ Frank - i dont think so since related items is a type of template, not a saved search.

I am trying to export the the related items for a list of items (similar to exporting members in a kit). I can't find a the related item fields when I create the search. Is this possible?

I have some websites that are ranking well with Google and Yahoo. Most of my clients come from Yahoo. I'm thinking of using Netsuite. My URLs end with a file extension (.html) while their URLs don't (/). One of their techs advised to use 301 redirects to workaround this issue. I read on some forums that Yahoo doesn't work with 301 redirects. Is this true? Will it negatively affect my SEO?

dont think so, but they shouldnt mess up anything your doing either, inclduing SEO.

I have a custom field that is a Document type, that references a PDF brochure for each of my products. I then reference it's URL with the standard item tag and my link works. The problem is that the URL is amazingly ugly, and not SEO friendly. So my question is if there is a way to invoke the URL in one of the SEO friendly formats that is displayed to me via the file cabinet, edit feature? I have a multi-site scenario, so I'm also concerned that if this is possible, that it be for the correct store/domain. If there is no way for me to refer to my pdf with an SEO friendly URL, then is there a tag I can use to simply retrieve the file name of the PDF that I reference in my custom field, and I can deal with the full URL myself in the item template? This is not possible. Netsuite is not open source so you can not change how the checkout is ordered.

Is there any way to change the order of the checkout process? Currently Netsuite requires CC information to be entered before you can review and submit the order, is there any way to change that? We've had clients who are reluctant to put in CC information before they see what the total amount is.

Hi All,

I am new to Net Suite i have a question how to bring the Data from the database to an html. how we should proceed when i submit all the fields those values are going into the database of the Net Suite now i need to get the images and data i have already inserted into the Net Suite data base. Now when i have redirected the page after submitting the values in that html page how we should write the code to get the images and data from the Database without any criteria firstly i need to get through without any criteria i need to populate all the data and images.. how to achieve this in the Net Suite, this is very urgent for me if any one can help me it would pleasure for me.

There are different ways to setup URL structure in Netsuite. What do you suggest from the options below-

Option #1 /tab_name/ca...me/item_name

Option #2
/item_name?sc=13&category=46548

Under option 1 you can also setup all categories as tabs and this would reduce one level. You would then have to hard code subcategories in the category pages. Any problem with doing this?

Hi Alex, thanks for all the good info. I am new to Netsuite. Is there a way to make changes on the site without having the changes to reflect on the production site? Sort of like a staging site.

@Old Bike Barn - the conversion code goes on the Checkout Tab. Add it to the Order Confirmation Message field. For the item template there are a few ways to do it. Ping me and we can chat about it and maybe do a full post on that topic.

@anonymous - if you are moving from a non-netsuite site to netsuite you need to ensure you set up 301 redirects for ALL your pages. Or can also do this in netsuite for the redirects. You need to be very careful and plan this perfectly, because if not done right you can kill your rankings and delete all your traffic.

i am considering a transition from a more basic to shopping cart over to Netsuite. I am curious about the impact the move will have on my search rankings. i have been w. my current solution for 2 + years. While my search positioning is not perfect, it's pretty good. Do you have any tips ?

2 quick Questions about running Netsuite with Google Optimizer:

1- What is the conversion page? and how do I add the tracking code to it..

2- Is there anyway to test a item template with multivariate testing for a range of item, not just 1 specific one.

@Christine - to use PHP - you would need to host the site outside of Netsuite and use web services to bring your catalog and/or transactions in to Netsuite.

In netsuite this is called: External Catalog Site (WSDK)

@prasanna - if the data is in your netsuite account you can run a "SAVED SEARCH" - look for it in help - it is really a report that search your NS database. Then once the format is to you liking you can export it as a CSV file and re-import it into your local database.

And i have been assigned a task to get the details of every successful transaction made and update the same items quantity in my local database.

1. I would like to know the process to follow to call a external website/webservice and i want to pass the order number to this website/webservice.
2. Insert the order number into my local database.
3. Get the details (list of items) of the transaction on the order number and update each items quantity in my local database.
