Netsuite ecommerce merchants see profit increase

// December 12th, 2008 // No Comments » // Branding & PR, Ecommerce Web Design, Netsuite Web Design

I received a press release today about NetSuite ecommerce merchants seeing 100% to 300% profit increase year over year. In the release, I was happy to see one of my clients featured, Remote Medical. This is a great example of how NetSuite is smart investment for your ecommerce business by streamlining operations, increasing sales opportunities and ability to have complete awareness of the business. Here is an excerpt from the press release.

Remote Medical ( www.remotemedical.com), based in Seattle, provides solutions for medicine and rescues in some of the most remote regions of the planet. With NetSuite, Remote Medical is touting almost triple-digit growth over the past two years without hiring an army of employees.

“Over the past two years, we have experienced rapid growth of nearly 800% and increased our staff by a factor of 5,” said Andrew Cull, CEO of Remote Medical. “I have no doubt that this would not have been possible without our decision to adopt NetSuite early and incorporate it into our business systems. I have clear, 360-degree visibility into every aspect of our operations from anywhere in the world.”

Join The Conversation

Interested in new media or the future of marketing? Read below…

On October 21st, we are going to Bumrush the Amazon.com charts for my new book “Join the Conversation”. What does this mean? Simple. If you’re planning on buying the book (and I hope you are), please purchase it on October 21st through Amazon.com

Mark Sunday, October 21st on your calendars, tell your friends and help me spread the word. There are going to be several conversational “marketing” components to the day. I’ll be on hand to chat with you throughout the day through various video, audio and text means and we can track the progress of the book and the relative success of this conversational marketing experiment.

In terms of expectations, I’m certainly not expecting to displace Harry Potter or current #1, Clarence Thomas’ My Grandfather’s Son, however it would be cool to top the business or at least marketing charts on the day. Ultimately you’ll be the arbiter’s of whether that will be possible or not…

Learning more about this movement, continue the article.

QVC New Logo & Website In Time For Holiday Sales

// September 21st, 2007 // No Comments » // Branding & PR

Recently I was listening to public radio and I heard about how QVC is trying the first ad campaign in 21 years. This includes a new QVC logo and a new QVC website (released around 9/23/07).

Then I noticed another article in the NY Times online. Quote from the article:

QVC New Logo & WebsiteThe new logo is only part of the network’s face-lift. Other components are a redesigned Web site, new on-air graphics, more colorful shipping boxes and an overhaul of the monthly magazine QVC Insider.

The new logo - the fourth in the company’s 21-year history, and the first new one in 14 years - shows a thick Q meant to look as if it were made of the type of ribbon used in gift-wrapping. The company is aiming to highlight the pleasant experience of the package’s arrival.

One of the interesting things about the design is that they are using latge background images in the main panels. They are doing this so the browser can scale to all different resolutions. It is a pretty common code design, but nice to see a main stream site testing different ways to ensure all users have the best experience.

QVC is really trying to ensure this ad campaign is successful. I even saw a commercial with Sheryl Crow talking about QVC helping toward breast cancer research with a daily shoe sale for women. The commercial actually had the new QVC logo on it, even though it is not on the website yet. There is a ton of integrated PR, promotional radio content and the coordination with the breast cancer month of Octover to launch a successful campaign prior to the holiday season starting. They are using big name female stars in their ads with pastel colors and (supposedly) a focus on the customer experience.

So I am excited to see what the new website will look like. After all it is a great ecommerce site that we can all learn from. Especially since QVC really knows how to market to woman and not just with girly colors.

NetSuite Website To Public Company

// August 29th, 2007 // 2 Comments » // Branding & PR, Netsuite Web Design

It is interesting to watch your clients take major steps to grow their business. USTelematics is a NetSuite website design we did earlier this year. They have some unique talking email devices and software that consumers are just starting to use. Products also include mobile TV and In Car Internet. So the products are for a unique audience since they are more high end, but this is the direction that consumer electronics is going.

USTelematics is starting to market themselves strongly because they begin Public Trading on the OTC Bulletin Board under Ticker Symbol UTLM. Details

They are doing this through Press Releases and the news wire. Now they are ramping up and getting some great coverage. External links have been popping up for their site almost every day in August. Yes, PR produces external links. External links are good for SEO. Duh! This is a new site and they do not have a page rank. Momentum and timing is key, even more so these days with SEO, plus anticipating the next page rank update. And the winner will be… the brand. Here is a great example of how the news of the company is getting picked up, click here.

Now as the web traffic improves on the site, we optimize the sales process paths. For instance, the homepage was driving a lot of people to the “about us” page. Mostly likely investors researching the company. So I added the featured product to the right column, driving more visitors to the item that is driving the brand - talking email. It is really true, the little things make the biggest difference. This is the best way to learn about your visitors and traffic trends.

NetSuite and iPhone work well together

// July 8th, 2007 // No Comments » // Branding & PR, Netsuite Web Design

Are you using the iPhone and NetSuite together? Lets us know, here

I have been using the iPhone and NetSuite together and it does work well. It doesn’t matter what size your dashboard is, it fits perfectly. You can even have multiple windows going at once. On wifi its perfect, without wifi it can be slow. I can do everything, run reports, edit my theme and all. Basically everything you can do on a regular computer. One thing I haven’t figured out yet is copy and paste, simple, but I don’t think it is an option. Usually, I just like to read the user group on my iPhone!

Definitely a convenience. Some companies have even done press releases about NetSuite and the iPhone…

The new iPhone now enables mobile executives, departmental employees, and agents to have true enterprise computing at their finger tips, according to Skyytek CEO Ray Tetlow. Using on-demand technology, such as NetSuite, instant CRM, ERP, HR and workflow processes can be performed without the complex integration of mobile technology with back-end systems, he adds.

Using PR on the web is a powerful way to build traffic and create external links to your site. External links are the most important thing for Natural Search (NSEO). Basics: The more external links you have, the more ways SEO spiders can come to your site. Here is an example of the using PR for Netsuite SEO:
